TM-1
The TM-1 is a compact, stompbox-style trigger module that adds electronic samples to an acoustic drum kit. It suits drummers who want to start with hybrid drumming using Roland triggers or pads, and it also converts trigger hits to MIDI over USB.

The TM-1 takes signals from up to two single-trigger devices or one dual-trigger device, such as Roland RT-series acoustic drum triggers, pads, cymbals and kick pedals, and plays back samples in response. It ships with 15 kits of two instruments each, built from 30 preloaded sounds covering kick, snare, tom, cymbal and percussion. Dedicated knobs for sensitivity, pitch, decay and level are provided for each trigger input.
A free TM-1 Editor app for Mac/Windows and iOS/Android gives access to more than 150 additional sounds and allows import of up to 30 user samples, each about six seconds long. Two built-in footswitches handle kit shifting and muting of the hybrid sound, so a player can drop back to purely acoustic playing between sections.
The unit has a metal body and runs on a 9 V battery, an optional AC adaptor, or USB power from a computer. It has a stereo output, a headphone jack and a USB type B port used for editor communication and for sending trigger-to-MIDI data to a DAW or drum sampler.
