The unit combines a 32-voice sampler, a pattern sequencer and a large effects section. Samples can be chopped in real time or automatically, with auto BPM detection, envelope and pitch shift. Resampling lets layers and effects be re-recorded, and Skip Back Sampling keeps up to 25 seconds of the most recent performance. Each project holds 160 samples, and 16 projects are stored internally.
Effects include 37 multi-effect types plus two input effects for the mic/guitar input. Classics such as Vinyl Simulator and DJFX Looper sit alongside Lo-fi, Cassette Simulator and Resonator. Bus FX allow several effects to be layered with custom routing. The mic/guitar input also offers Vocoder, Auto Pitch and Guitar Amp Simulator. Sequencing offers adjustable quantize and shuffle, Pad Link, a Roll button, BPM per bank and pattern chaining. DJ Mode mixes two audio files.
Connections include 1/4-inch line in and out, a 1/4-inch mic/guitar input, two headphone outputs, 1/8-inch TRS MIDI in and out, and USB-C for audio and MIDI. Power comes from USB-C, an AC adaptor or six AA batteries. An editor app for Mac and Windows handles waveform editing, pad assignment and imports.
