The twotwo.8 is the largest of three models in PMC's twotwo series. It pairs a 200mm bass driver and a 27mm soft-dome tweeter with an Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) cabinet, which is loaded with an effective line length of 1.9m. A DSP engine handles driver response, crossover and EQ, and dual Class-D amplification powers the drive units.
The cabinet works in either vertical or horizontal orientation without a stated loss of stereo imaging or tonal accuracy. This makes it usable in tight spaces such as outside broadcast vehicles, small radio on-air studios, TV sound galleries, project studios and video editing suites. The maker quotes a frequency response of 35Hz to 25kHz.
Inputs are balanced analogue XLR, unbalanced RCA/phono and AES digital on XLR, with digital handling up to 192kHz. Input sensitivity is adjustable from +4 to +15dBu. Registering a new unit within 10 days of purchase extends the warranty to 20 years, subject to terms.
