The GLOBE5PD is a self-powered sphere loudspeaker from the Ecler WiSpeak range. It combines a 5" woofer with a 1" silk dome tweeter in a fibreglass-reinforced ABS enclosure and spreads sound 360° horizontally and 160° vertically. It is the pendant version of the GLOBE; a separate version exists for light-rail mounting.
Audio arrives wirelessly as one mono channel from the WiSpeak transmitter it is paired with, using 24-bit uncompressed audio at 48 kHz in the 5 GHz band, with latency under 6 ms and range up to 12 m in open space. Volume and tone are set in the WiSpeak grip app, and the filter and EQ settings let it act as bass reinforcement for other WiSpeak loudspeakers. The front panel has an UNPAIR button and WiS and STR LED indicators.
Power comes from an internal universal supply (100–240 VAC, 50–60 Hz) through a 3-pole Euroblock connector. The speaker hangs on two 5 m steel cords supplied in the box, and it comes in white (RAL 9003) or black (RAL 9005).
