The Fuzz Master General Legacy Reissue is a hand-built octave fuzz derived from the vintage Ace Tone Fuzz Master FM-2, a circuit close to the Super Fuzz. The original design has been reworked with a Fuzz control that covers a wider range, from almost clean to heavy buzzsaw fuzz.
A three-way Voice toggle selects germanium clipping (more output, looser fuzz), silicon clipping (compressed, tighter fuzz) or no diode clipping in the centre position. The no-clipping setting gives a nearly clean upper octave that approaches ring modulation and is very loud, so the level should be lowered. A variable Tone control replaces the original's two-setting footswitch, sweeping from a bright, open sound to a scooped, bass-heavy one. Level sets the output volume.
The pedal uses relay-based Flexi-Switch true bypass, which allows both latching and momentary operation, and needs power to pass signal. It runs from a 9 V DC supply through a 2.1 mm negative-center barrel jack. A limited lifetime warranty applies.
