The BLX24R/SM58 is a single-channel wireless vocal set built around a rack-mountable BLX4R receiver and a BLX2/SM58 handheld transmitter. The SM58 capsule provides the vocal sound, and the system is intended for live singing and speaking where a cable is a hindrance.

Setup relies on a one-touch scan that selects a frequency, and the transmitter runs for up to 14 hours on a pair of AA batteries. Range is quoted at up to 300 feet (100 m). Up to 12 channels can be run per frequency band, depending on region and environment. The set is offered in several frequency bands (H9, H10, H11, J11), so the band needs to be matched to the country of use.

The receiver is installed in a rack using the supplied brackets, with two detachable quarter-wave antennas, BNC cables and bulkhead adapters so the antennas can be placed at the front of the rack. A power supply, a link bracket for joining receivers, a swivel adapter, a thread adapter and a zippered vinyl bag are included.
