The set combines a black aluminium SKM 500 G4 handheld transmitter, fitted with the MMD 935-1 cardioid dynamic capsule, and an EM 300-500 G4 receiver in a full-metal half-rack housing. The receiver uses true diversity reception and has an OLED display for controlling settings. A GA 3 rack kit and a microphone clamp are supplied.
Transmitter and receiver are synchronised by infrared. The system offers up to 88 MHz of bandwidth with 3520 selectable frequencies and up to 32 compatible channels, which suits multi-channel installations. RF output can be set to 10, 30 or 50 mW, depending on country regulations. The transmitter runs on two AA batteries, with a typical operating time of 8 hours.
On the back of the receiver, the audio output is a 6.3 mm unbalanced jack socket. An Ethernet port connects to Sennheiser's Wireless Systems Manager (WSM) software for frequency coordination across several systems. The package is sold in several frequency ranges, with a separate frequency sheet for each.
