The TT-99 is a direct-drive turntable with a brushless DC motor and a die-cast aluminium platter. It plays at 33 1/3, 45 and 78 rpm and offers a pitch range of +/- 10 %. Start and brake times are each 1 second or less, using an electronic brake. The deck comes in a special 909 celebration paint finish and ships with a slipmat in the matching 909 colour.
The static-balanced S-shaped tonearm has an effective length of 230.5 mm and an overhang of 16 mm, with tracking force adjustable from 0 to 4 g and anti-skating from 0 to 7 g. It takes cartridges weighing 3.5 to 8.5 g, and a headshell with cartridge is supplied together with a counterweight and a 45 rpm adaptor.
A phono equaliser is built in. Signal leaves through a pair of RCA phono jacks (L, R), and a separate ground terminal is provided for the supplied RCA/GND cable. A dust cover is included. The deck measures 450 x 350 x 150 mm and weighs 9.8 kg.
