The CUBE-80GX is a combo amp built around an 80 W power section and a custom 12-inch speaker. It offers three channels: JC CLEAN, LEAD with ten selectable COSM amp types, and a programmable SOLO channel that stores an amp type together with EQ and effects settings. Tone shaping comes from a three-band EQ plus a PRESENCE control.
Three separate effects sections are provided: EFX with five stompbox-style effects (chorus, flanger, phaser, tremolo, heavy octave), DELAY with two types and tap tempo, and REVERB with spring and plate options. A chromatic/manual tuner is built in.
For connections, the amp has LINE OUT and RECORDING OUT jacks for sending the modelled tone to a mixer or recorder. The RECORDING OUT jack also works as a headphone output and mutes the internal speaker. The i-CUBE LINK jack links an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch through a supplied cable, and also serves as a stereo aux input. Channel switching and effects can be controlled with the optional GA-FC foot controller or compatible BOSS footswitches. The free CUBE JAM iOS app handles backing tracks, practice tools and recording.
