RS1

The RS1 is a small passive two-way loudspeaker built around a hand-assembled RR125 bass/mid driver with a paper cone and an HF20-ZRR high-frequency unit designed in-house. The tweeter design removes unwanted rear reflections to help keep the response free of distortion. The crossover is handmade and kept deliberately simple, needing no additional filter networks to work with the drivers.

The bass response is described as unusually even for a speaker of this size, which allows the RS1 to be mounted directly on a wall, placed on a shelf or used on stands. The cabinet uses real wood veneer and is offered in Natural Cherry, Black Ash and Gloss Piano Black.

The speaker has a single pair of terminals and is not bi-wirable or bi-ampable. It is rated at 8 ohms nominal impedance and 90 dB sensitivity, and the maker states it can be used with amplifiers from 30 W to 500 W depending on amplifier quality. Suggested partners include Rega's Elex-R, Elicit-R, Osiris and Brio-R amplifiers and Duet loudspeaker cable.
