The RP-280FA shares its core technology with the RP-280F floorstanding speaker. It adds an elevation channel in the top of the cabinet that sends sound up to the ceiling, where it reflects back to the listener to create the overhead layer of a Dolby Atmos system.
The main drivers are a 1-inch titanium tweeter with linear travel suspension, working with a 90x90 hybrid Tractrix horn, and a pair of 8-inch spun copper cerametallic cone woofers. The cabinet uses a redesigned Tractrix port. A removable grille covers the front of the speaker.
The speaker comes in a walnut wood veneer finish or in ebony and cherry vinyl veneer finishes. It measures 43.125 x 10.5 x 19.75 inches. A spec sheet and a product manual are available as downloads from the maker.
