The R-115SW is a front-firing powered subwoofer built around a 15-inch spun-copper Cerametallic driver. The driver cone is light and rigid, which keeps cone breakup and distortion low at low frequencies. A front-firing slot port with a proprietary internal flare shape reduces port noise.
The built-in all-digital amplifier supplies 800 watts of dynamic power. A low-pass crossover and a phase control let the user blend the subwoofer with other Klipsch speakers and set the bass level to suit the room.
Connection is through left/right line-level or LFE RCA inputs, which are compatible with most receivers. An optional Klipsch WA-2 Wireless Subwoofer Kit can be added for a wireless link, which gives more freedom in placement. The cabinet is MDF with a brushed black polymer veneer and a satin painted MDF plinth, and a front-mounted LED shows whether the unit is powered on.
