The Dual FreqInOut FO1_2RK houses two FO1 units in a single 1U rackmount chassis, giving 8 analog inputs and 8 analog outputs. It is not a sound card: it adds channels next to the interface already in use, on Mac and Windows, and connects over a single USB-C cable that carries both audio and control.
A companion FreqInOut plugin handles routing, round-trip latency compensation and hardware control inside the DAW, so external processors are inserted like plugins and their settings are stored with the session. Conversion is 32-bit with sample-accurate timing, including during recording. The plugin interface can mirror the connected hardware, and a QR code scan with a camera can be used to create custom skins.
Features include Hardware Mix for parallel processing, M/S mode for mid-side work, and a 4x4 analog matrix per unit for changing signal flow without repatching. Up to four units can be combined for 16 inputs and outputs. Power comes over USB, with an optional 12V DC adaptor.
