The Quantum ES 2 is a two-input, two-output recording interface that works at up to 24-bit / 192 kHz. It uses low-latency custom drivers and low-noise converters, and is built around two redesigned MAX-HD preamps. These are digitally controlled analog stages with a 75 dB gain range, intended to suit the microphones most commonly used today.
A front-facing instrument input was developed with Fender engineers for guitar and bass. An Auto Gain button sets a recording-ready level for microphones and instruments, and an illuminated push encoder adjusts gain and output volume. LED meters show input and output levels.
The interface connects to computers and mobile devices over USB-C. Preamp gain, phantom power and other functions can be set from the top panel, from Fender Studio Pro, or from the Universal Control app on desktop, tablet or phone. Registering the hardware includes a perpetual licence for Fender Studio Pro recording software.
