The Bassman Driver is a bass-focused drive pedal from Fender's Bassman pedal series. Its JFET circuitry and dynamic clipping stages imitate a bass tube amp pushed into breakup, from light grit to heavy modern distortion. A voice switch adds a second clipping layer, and a mids switch offers two levels of midrange emphasis.

The blend control mixes unaffected clean signal back in so the low end keeps its body and dynamics. An internal tone control, reached by opening the back cover, sets the high-frequency content of the drive signal. Built-in speaker emulation allows a usable sound through any bass cab or PA, and a side-mounted pad switch adapts the input to active basses.

The pedal uses soft-touch relay true bypass, which bypasses automatically when no power is present. The jacks are on the top edge and the enclosure is aluminum with an inset aluminum face plate. Power comes from a 9V battery or a 9VDC centre-negative adapter, which is sold separately.
