The LPB-1 is a single-knob analog booster built as an exact re-creation of the original LPB-1 circuit from 1968. It is placed in front of an amp or another pedal to raise the input drive, tighten definition and push an amp into more gain and saturation.
Controls are kept to a minimum: a Boost knob sets the amount of boost and a footswitch engages or bypasses the effect. The pedal uses true bypass, so the signal path is unaltered when it is switched off. The housing is a compact die-cast chassis.
It has a mono ¼" input jack and a ¼" amp output jack. Power comes from an included 9V battery and the current draw is 1mA. An optional 9.6VDC-200mA power adapter can be used but is not supplied. The pedal measures 4.5 x 2.75 x 2.1 inches.
